Mrs. Council was born in Augsburg, Germany and grew up all over the world as an Army "Brat." As a young adult she joined the Army Reserves and served 8 years as a Legal Specialist and Court Reporter. Living her life connected to the military meant that she had to reinvent herself multiple times due to the frequency of changing duty stations. She has been an administrative assistant, office manager, editorial manager, data analyst, statistician, and technical writer to name a few. In every position that she held she was always considered a leader and rose to management in some form serving as a mentor and role model for her peers and colleagues.
Mrs. Council largely credits her time in the military with the development of her leadership and communication skills. Being the eldest of 4 girls in her family also helped with her development as a leader. She holds the distinction of Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE), the highest designation awarded to educational office professionals and is a member of local, state and national professional organizations as well as several civic and social organizations. She is frequently sought out as a mentor, speaker and customer service trainer.
Today Mrs. Council serves as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of the largest and fastest-growing school district in Northeast Columbia, South Carolina. She develops and implements professional learning opportunities for office professionals in her district as well as across the state and nation. She is well-respected and known for her open, honest and engaging brand of motivational speaking and training. She draws upon over 35 years of experience in the field of office administration and management as she motivates and inspires employees to be lifelong learners who strive to become the best versions of themselves possible.
